Willie Revillame’s show “Willing Willie” is still the “king” insofar as primetime television is concerned. The new and refurbished TV Patrol tried and still failed to dislodged Revillame in the ratings game, according to new Nielsen stats.
The new TV patrol has three (3) broadcast giants, all trying very hard to increase the ratings of the once primetime TV staple show. Kabayang Noli de Castro, Ted Failon and Korina Sanchez have teamed up. Of course, they have the voluptuous Gretchen Fullido to provide viewers some “heat”.
If they did this several years ago, this teamup would have been a blast. Yet, let’s admit it–Noli de Castro is not as “hot” as what he was several years ago.
I think that the reason why TV patrol’s ratings remain “stable”. It is the content of their news that really do not pack a punch.
Gone are the days when Filipinos got shocked with the news presented over TV Patrol. Most of the news reports are “unexciting”.
They should probably revive their reporters before, the likes of Erwin Tulfo, etal, who are very credible in their fields of interest.
Kabayan should also be more “combative” like before, and maybe, just maybe, TV patrol will lord it over again in the ratings game.
