Criselda Volks sex tape: Why Blame her?

4 Nov

A sinner or a victim?

A sinner or a victim?

After posting my entry about the sex tape (you can request me a copy) of former sexy star Criselda Volks, a slew of indecent comments attacking the actress were posted in my site. Many says “she’s a mess”, ” a whore (pok-pok)” and some obscenities. I’ve heard from the rumour mill that Criselda Volks allegedly sold herself to a wealthy Malaysian to feed her alleged gambling addiction. That Malaysian was not Volk’s boyfriend; the foreigner is a trader who frequents the casinos and “gets women hooked” . These are just some of the rumours circulating around town and we’ll never know the truth.

One thing for sure–I’ve seen the four part series (I have a compressed file) and what’s sure is (1) it’s not taken from a cellphone (2) it was shot obviously using a video camera and (3) the scenes did not show Volks making love with a boyfriend. Those scenes suggest that Volks knew that it was being taken for other purposes (other than personal). I’ll not delve on this anymore.

One thing for sure–Criselda Volks does’nt deserve our derision. She does’nt deserve our brickbats, nor our angry looks or judgmental comments. I mean, if she, indeed, did it (sold her soul to the devil), she has every right and every reason to do it. She’s a victim of poor judgment or even circumstances. Will we blame her for not being born with a proverbial silver spoon in her mouth? Will we accuse her for deciding to cast her lot with a married man (Cris Villanueva) and having his kid?

Criselda Volks is entitled to her happiness. There are, of course, consequences. But, these are hers and hers alone to bear. She’s a single mom. And she’s lucky that another man bore the responsibilities which Cris allegedly fail to do.

Volks is a victim of a vicious system that oppresses those already oppressed. What we can do is help her. If she’s already deep in the mud, then, we try to extend a helping hand. Nothing wrong, right?

Oh, by the way—for those of you who want to see those sex tapes, i can send it to you via email. I have a complete set.

Criselda Volks Sex Video

3 Nov

Semi-retired sexy star Criselda Volks admitted that she’s the one caught on a four-part sex series being distributed right now in the internet. Volks, who was a very promising star before being hitched by former matinee idol Cris Villanueva (who was married previously), said that it was a personal video between her and her former boyfriend. She said it was unlikely that her boyfriend distributed the video, since she says, they still love each other.

Well, money do sparkle best especially if it’s in dollars? I mean, the supposed sex scandal video has been widely distributed especially in those foreign porn sites. And its highly unlikely that neither one of those “stars” shown here knows anything about it nor are they as innocent as lambs.

Instead of people lambasting Volks, we should, especially those in the entertainment industry, give Volks some projects to put her mind away from all these ridiculous and nasty things. I mean, who would fault her for being a single mom, raising her kid alone and having to shoulder all those needs? In her interview, she says that Cris has’nt been a good father and provider for her kid. That’s why she became suicidal and even became a gambling junkie.

If Volks or some folks behind her thinks that this latest scandal would again revive interest for her career, they probably are right. Even in hollywood, that’s the surest way to get enormous attention.

However, more than this though, we, Netizens, should probably focus more on other scandals, such as this Joc-Joc Bolante controversy because this is more urgent than any sex video.

Being robbed by 3 billion pesos is more important and interesting to find out than a sex controversy. Hey, if we find out where our money went, we could all sleep soundly at night knowing that single moms like Volks would not find ridiculous ways anymore of looking for money.

Obama fever could overwhelm the polls

2 Nov

Two days from now, Americans will decide whether to choose a veteran of traditional political wars or a young, inexperienced dreamer who’ll get the very first distinction as America’s first black president. Polls show, it’s a very interesting fight. Democratic bet Barack Obama is leading Republican John McCain. All over the world, millions are supportive of Obama. Obama is positioned as a refreshing candidate, someone with the vision and the “stamina” to manage a different America. Obama’s popularity rode on the overwhelming anti-Bush sentiment. Throughout the campaign, Obamanatics tried to portray their candidate as the “chosen one”, mainly because of his youth and his anarchronism against anything Bush. If they succeed in conquering the Oval Office this November 4, expect some radical changes in the way the government is being run.

I have always been an Obamanatic, eversince I saw the young maverick Senator commenting about the loss of Vice President Gore. Four years ago, I have thought that this young man could very well become president. Little did I know that that CNN interview was just the start of a series which culminated to what I described as “Obama fever”. Quite expectedly, Americans got his message. Here was a young man with a vision and possibly the right prescription to end American financial miseries. But, will he really do it within 4 years?

Arroyo hits critics

1 Nov

Mrs. Arroyo just lambasted her critics for alleged political shamanism in the face of an impending financial crisis to hit us in the first quarter of 2009. She said that protests are ill-timed and ill-advised. We should all be uniting behind her to effect reforms.

Question–did the Filipino People made these controversies all up? Were we the ones who…

  1. Stole 3 billion pesos to fund a very controversial Hello Garci election scandal?
  2. Got 6.5 million for a trip of eight PNP generals?
  3. Caused the failure of a peace pact with Bangsamoro rebels?
  4. Nearly stole 8 billion pesos from a deficient ZTE telecommunications deals?
  5. Selling Philippine patrimony to foreigners?
  6. Denuding our forests to satisfy the resource requirements of emerging economies such as giant China?
  7. Promoted nepotism and destroyed professionalism in the career services?
  8. Allowed the pardon of convicted rapists, murderers and sadists?

Let me re-publish one letter to the editor sent by an Inquirer reader here:

‘Godmother’ rules Philippine ‘gangland’

Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 03:15:00 11/01/2008

It’s really dismaying to watch the news and read the papers. An agriculture official diverted fertilizer funds for election purposes, a top election official sealed a deal to modernize elections with a bogus company, and a presidential candidate called an election commissioner during the canvassing of votes.

Let’s not forget a US Marine/rapist was smuggled out of Philippine jurisdiction, a convicted plunderer was pardoned, and an arrogant murderer was recently granted clemency. Now a former police comptroller is under fire for carrying more cash than allowed in Russia or anywhere but here. Slowly but surely our country is beginning to look like a very bad movie—except that it’s real.

I suggest we drop all pretenses and just declare once and for all that we no longer deserve the name “Republika ng Pilipinas.”

Our beautiful Philippines is looking more and more like a gangland. It’s now home to the most successful Mafia-like syndicate there is in any part of the world. Just like in the movies, the syndicate’s bosses appear respectable, they go to church on Sundays, and have nice real mansions, clothes and cars. But here, unlike anywhere else, they also run our country.

Here they can have you abducted or killed in broad daylight, especially if you (a) are an activist and (b) a journalist critical of government anomalies, or for no particular reason at all. Here they drive around in those big SUVs with armed escorts who will not hesitate to bully anyone who gets in their way.

Yes, they belong to The Family that rules the country. This Family is headed by a godmother, who is also the patron of convicted rapists, plunderers, murderers and election cheats. Human rights? They can’t be found around these parts of the planet.

Bishop’s Statement A Call for Discernment

31 Oct

Five prelates of the monolithic Roman Catholic church issued a statement calling on the people to act against the prevailing order of the times. Iloilo Archbishop and CBCP Head Angel Lagdameo made that call last Tuesday. Aside from merely lambasting the Arroyo administration for its seeming role in the perpetuation of graft and corruption, Lagdameo called upon the `liberators’ of the Motherland to put an end to this cycle of shame and start building a new government.

Question–is it wrong for the archbishops to do this kind of thing now that there’s a pending bill called “Reproductive Health bill” waiting either the signature of Arroyo or her veto? Some sectors speculate that the RCC is just “muscle flexing”, telling Arroyo that the Church is still a force to reckon with. Showing signs of insecurity? Maybe. Or a reflection of inadequate moral discernment?

It could also be a sign that leading proponents of the RH-bill are winning the debate. Two large religious organisations, the Iglesia Ni Cristo and the Jesus is Lord Movement (JIL) are also working silently behind the corridors of power, lobbying for the passage of this bill. Not to mention the US government, and foreign pro-choice lobbyists exerting tremendous PR pressure for Arroyo to make that historic act.

Though the statement really echoes the sentiments of the majority, few believe that a move to oust Gloria could really muster enough support from a so-called “desensitized” military and a throng of trapos intent on earning millions in 2010. This belief stems from earlier models of change where the people’s movement relied on the security forces of the state to effect leadership change. With an unworthy successor (yet popular one) to Arroyo, few welcome radical change simply because doing the right thing now might further cause damage.

Having said that, I think that proponents of change should simply alter their boxed formula for revolts and entertain the idea that calls for new forces leading the charge. Simply put, newer paradigms do not need a withdrawal of support to effect change. Catalysts for change should disabuse the minds of the people and establish this paradigm that simply calls on a Council of State to administer the affairs of the State during the period of transition. The message should be as simple as: to avoid greater confusion, chaos and violence in 2010, the People’s Movement is asking Gloria Arroyo to step down before the elections and make that sacrifice. With her spotty record, Arroyo should be made to resign immediately to avoid a further slide down south of the economy and political system.
