Crumbling Administration party: 4-way runup for the presidential nomination

23 Oct

ebdanevisittojasTourism secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano will not be running under Lakas-KAMPI, the administration party. Instead, he will run under the Nationalist People’s Coalition. Ronnie Puno just withdrew from the vice presidential race, while there is no guarantee if Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro really will be the administration party since DPWH secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. just resigned from his post to contest him on November 12. Ebdane’s ads are being heard and seen all over town and many think that this is just posturing for a senatorial or a Congressional post. However, close associates of Ebdane says that what Ebdane wants is the presidency no less.

With Ebdane in the picture, the administration party now sees three or even four contenders for the party nomination: Gibo, Bayani Fernando (who remains optimistic even at 1% rating), Richard Gordon and Ebdane. There is a chance for Ebdane to even clinch the vice presidential nomination, if he so desires, since Puno already withdrew. A split within the so-called “monolithic party” is in the offing.

Ebdane is actually a wild card, an obvious kicker candidate released by forces opposed to Teodoro as Lakas-Kampi candidate. Sources say, the First Gentleman was the one who threw a monkey wrench in the entire thing with this Ebdane adventure, proving once more what PinoyObserver wrote a few months ago that the Arroyos hate Teodoro’s guts.

ZTE-NBN deal–don’t forget because Dick Gordon wants us to

21 Sep

Two years ago, a businessman by the name of Joey de Venecia III went out of his comfort zone and exposed the greatest scam engineered by Mrs. Arroyo and her lackeys. The ZTE-NBN deal is a multi-billion dollar deal which was cooked up by the DOTC and the First Gentleman’s Group. They wanted to improve the I.T. infrastructure of the Philippines by handing over control of the project to the Chinese. Such a sensitive project handled by a foreign entity.

The Sandiganbayan already charged ex-COMELEC chair Benjamin Abalos and former NEDA secretary-General of violating the graft laws of the country but Senator Richard Gordon of the Blue ribbon committee wants to amend the charge sheet to include whistleblowers Joey de Venecia III, his father Joe and Jun Lozada. Why, only Gordon knows. But I know the reason. Later I will expose the deal between Malacanang and Gordon.

Anyway, this is the first time in human history that the whistleblowers will be the ones charged for exposing a stinking deal such as the ZTE-NBN. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, ex-chair of the Senate blue ribbon committee, says that the deal goes up to Malacanang. However, Dick Gordon wants us to believe that it does not, and instead, did a diversionary tactic by ascribing blame to JOey de Venecia III.

Dick Gordon is muddling the issue to protect the First Couple.

Dick Gordon wants to reprise his successful demolition of the Joc-Joc Bolante case with that of the ZTE-NBN deal. Dick succeeded in his handling of the Bolante case. He thought that we have short memories. He thought that we already forgot the deal. No suree!

Gordon wants to do the same thing with the ZTE-NBN deal, the greatest scam of the century. Well, I took the liberty of uploading the famous ZTE-NBN scam videos here to remind everyone of this. Dick and his online publicists should be forewarned—-the Filipino people do not have short memories.

Bagumbayan?

28 Apr

Lest I be accused of political target shooting, let me say that Richard Gordon’s latest caper is noble, at best. Yet, it is bereft of historical consideration, or at least, people behind his campaign seems absent during their history class.

Why? Let me put it this way.

Bagumbayan symbolizes not the re-birth nor the birth of a new Hope. It is actually a symbol of the misery of the Filipino People. It was in this site that colonizers killed the symbol of Hope, Dr. Jose Rizal. Bagumbayan, now Luneta, was the center of the Revolution that paved the way for the highway robbery of the elite. It was in this site that Rizal, a member of the Ilustrado, became a martyr of the elites.

Lest Gordon wants us to be reminded of this historical malfeasance, he better correct his history before anybody notices it.

However, let the flowering of New Hope spring from that cursed ground, that is Bagumbayan.

Pope Dick Gordon

20 Dec

Much fuzz have been generated by Senator Mar Roxas’ outburst during the interfaith rally. A colleague, Senator Richard Gordon, was one of the first one who “castigated” Mar for uttering such “bad words”. After Gordon’s self-moralizing tirade, Malacanang followed suit.

I don’t know about you but I remember that incident before the establishment of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Area (SBMA). Gordon was then mayor of, I think, Iba Zambales. He was campaigning for the retention of the military bases since, he said, his entire province of Zambales and possibly, of Bataan, would not be able to cope with the withdrawal of US troops.

When Gordon was lambasted publicly by anti-bases groups, he cussed and threatened everyone. His cursing was worst than Mar Roxas. He even accused those who oppose the extension of the military bases as “ingrates”, “fools” and “Communists”. Had I decided to write in Tagalog, these words would definitely offend the sensibilities of many.

Yet, unlike Mar, Gordon cursed the people, not the people’s oppressor, as what the good senator from Iloilo did.

I hope Mr. Gordon would not be that too a moralist and a pseudo good doer. Like Mar, Gordon is just human.

What would Gordon say if PGMA declares, say, Mr. Manny Villar as the administration’s standard bearer and colleague Cheez Escudero as the administration’s vice presidential timber, leaving him, Bayani Fernando and Noli de Castro in the lurch? Will he blurt the classic Tagalog cuss word against Gloria?

I would advise those who dreams to become president to just shut up, just do your own thing and not pontificate like they’re saints when obviously, they’re not.
