Blog Action Day: Poverty can be defeated

I’ve watched “The Pursuit of Happyness” for the fifth time already. It’s a great film which I recommend to everybody. The film is set on the 1980’s when Reaganomics claimed the lives of millions of Americans. These Americans fell victim to a nasty transition from post-traumatic economic recession of the 70’s to a newly found economic philosophy called “Reaganomics”. That philosophy encouraged Americans to “go entrepreneur” and create their own businesses. Many believed it and the central character of the film was one of them.
I’ll not go to the specifics, but what made this film really good is its primal lesson–don’t give up. If poverty stares you straight in your face, strive to conquer it. For those who are having a hard time coping with a worsening economy, don’t despair. There are still so many ways to fight this scourge created by man.
And I share this good news to those whose jobs are being threatened by a global recession. I say to you, you can turn this into an opportunity. Be creative. Assess what you have and use them to expand your options. Poverty happens when your options fall. Don’t let that happen. Always have many options available.
