Ted Failon, the mild-mannered yet hard-hitting commentator over at ABS-CBN 2, is said to be gunning for a senatorial post. He’s allegedly being invited to grace the senatorial lineup of former president Joseph Estrada. Estrada is said to be mulling a comeback come 2010.

Of course, we heard that BAYAN MUNA representatives Satur Ocampo and Teddy Casino are also in the thick of preparations for their senatorial bids. AKBAYAN representative Ria Hontiveros-Baraquel is also said to have declared her senatorial bid shortly after endorsing the impeachment complaint against Ombusman Gutierrez.

Joey de Venecia III, the indefatigable son and namesake of the former Speaker of the House, is also gunning for the Senatorial post, along with Teofisto Guingona III, son of the ex-Vice President.

Some say Jun Lozada, the ZTE whistleblower, is also preparing for a comeback at the Senate, this time as Senator. He’s being backed by the Black and White Movement and the nuns.

Senator Bong Revilla, meanwhile, is said to be one of many candidates for the administration’s vice presidential anointment. He would probably be considered if Vilma Santos refused the offer of Madam for a teamup with Kabayan Noli de Castro.

A de Castro-Santos tandem is a sure blockbuster at the polls.

Cheez Escudero is obviously Danding Cojuangco’s bet for the top post come 2010. His ratings are higher than Legarda’s. An Escudero-Legarda tandem has a chance to clinch the top spots.

Mar Roxas is said to be in talks with the camps of Gordon or Ping Lacson. A Roxas-Lacson, Lacson-Roxas tandem is winnable.

Gordon is being convinced to go down, as vice president. If he does decide to run as veep, he may have to contend with either Villar or quite possibly, Noli? A Noli-Gordon tandem is like the sound of a jeep, with the present veep, running with another veep aspirant. veep-veep!

Bayani Fernando is reputedly being asked to just run for the Senate. Even in the Senate, the Bad Friend of the Filipino People is sure to encounter rough waters.
