President Noynoy Aquino has another crisis going: the PAL strike

Employees of Philippine Airlines are preparing for a strike. The 1,000 plus employee’s union has demanded that the PAL management grants their simple demands, which includes lifting the age limit for flight stewards. This, they say, smacks of discrimination.
PAL employees say they are preparing for a possible company wide strike next week. A strike, analysts say, will disrupt and cripple the already ailing local airline industry.
If this strike happens, this will again blow up before the very face of this administration. Remember that a Labor department panel has just taken cognizance of this labor dispute. The panel failed in providing the employees and management a `win-win’ solution.
President Noynoy Aquino has assured the public that “everything is under control”, that this strike will not unnecessarily cripple the riding public.
Philippine airlines is the biggest airline company to date in the Philippines. It was privatized and given to the group of Lucio Tan after reportedly suffering from years of mismanagement and neglect. After years of operation, PAL remains underperforming.
