Megi death toll–15 dead, 1.5 billion in damages

In the past, typhoons as strong as Megi normally kills in the 50plus. Now, the Aquino administration is patting itself in the back for minimizing the number of casualties. The official toll is around 15. And damage to property especially to crops, is only 1.5 billion.
The Aquino administration pats itself in the back for a job well done. This, I think, is too premature.
The Aquino administration must recognize that our country is susceptible to natural disasters. It should always be on its toes.
Pagasa says the possibility of Megi re-asserting itself in the Philippine area of responsibility is likely.
So, the preparedness should always be the norm, not the exception, in the Philippines.
